Aruna Tewari joined course at my institute “Delhi Collage of Art” (DCA), Safdarjung Enclave branch in the mid of year 2010. When I met her first time I could easily make out that she not only had the talent but also had yearning to do something in the field of art. I as well as other faculty members were tremendously impressed with her sincerity and dedication throughout the course. It was, thus, inevitable that she became topper in her class. In fact she was the only student who was always ready with all the assignments and tasks that too before the stipulated time. I was so much awed by her commitment that I always exhorted other students to learn from her and even emulate her.

In July 2012, when she decided to opt out after attending DCA for two years, I was shocked and dismayed over her decision of pursuing art on her own. However, I was also convinced that with her tenacity she would definitely be able to make a place of her own in the field of art.

I am glad that she is organising her first solo exhibition at the prestigious ‘Lalit Kala Academy’ in April this year. It is, indeed, a great opportunity to showcase her talent and work before the art critics as well as the masses.

I wish her good luck for the exhibition as well as for future. I am sure that she would do exceptionally well in the times to come and make her family as well as DCA proud over her.
